Erectile Dysfunction Treatment in Mumbai

Weave, Centre for Integrative Psychiatry offers care for erection difficulty in Mumbai. If you searched for a sexologist or a sex problem doctor in Mumbai, this is the page to read.

In short

How is erectile dysfunction treated in Mumbai?

Erectile dysfunction is treated after an assessment that checks the body and the mind. At Weave, Centre for Integrative Psychiatry, the assessment is with Dr. Niharika Reddy or Dr. Wilfred D'souza, Consultant Psychiatrists.

  • The history covers when it started, erections on waking, stress, mood, sleep, alcohol and current medicines. Blood tests for sugar, cholesterol or hormones are ordered when the history points to them.
  • Care may pair a talking approach for performance worry with a medicine, prescribed only after assessment. When a physical cause needs specialist care, the plan includes a referral to urology or endocrinology.
  • Appointments are in person at Kanjurmarg West, Mumbai, or by video online across India. The clinic consults 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM on all days, including Sunday. A brief consultation is INR 1,800 (30 min), and a full consultation is INR 2,800 (50 min).
  • A first WhatsApp message can be one line and does not need to name the concern. Men who would rather talk to a man can ask for Dr. Wilfred D'souza, who works alongside her.

More than one cause

What can cause erectile dysfunction?

Erection difficulty often has more than one cause, and the mind, the body and medicines can each play a part.

The anxiety loop

One difficult night can start a loop, where the next time is spent watching for the problem.

That watchfulness alone can be enough to get in the way, and the sexual health guide explains how the loop works.

The body

An erection depends on healthy blood flow, nerves and hormones working together.

Blood sugar, blood pressure, smoking and heavy drinking can all affect it.

Medicines

Some antidepressants and some blood pressure medicines can affect erections as a side effect.

The medication questions page explains side effects and why a medicine should not be stopped suddenly.

worryblood flowhormonesmedicines

The useful question is what is driving the difficulty now.

The first appointment

What does the first appointment make room for?

The first appointment is a conversation rather than a test, with plain questions about health and daily life.

When it started

The timing of the change gives useful clues about its cause.

A sudden change after a stressful event reads differently from a slow change over years.

  • sudden or gradual
  • what was happening then

Clues from the body

Erections on waking are one clue among several about the cause. Another is whether things differ when alone and with a partner.

  • erections on waking
  • alone or with a partner

Health and medicines

Mood, sleep and stress are all part of the picture.

Current medicines, alcohol and smoking are asked about in the same conversation.

  • mood and sleep
  • current medicines

How care works

How do assessment and care work?

Care follows four steps, and each one can be discussed before it happens.

The history

A conversation about when the difficulty started and what changes it. General health, mood, sleep and medicines are covered too.

Examination and tests

An examination is arranged when the history calls for it, at the clinic or through a referral. Blood tests are ordered when the history points to them.

A plan

The plan may pair a talking approach with a medicine. It may also include a referral to a urology or hormone specialist.

Review

A follow-up looks at what has helped and what has not. The plan changes when the review shows it needs to.

Is there a test for erectile dysfunction?

No single test settles the question, so the history comes first and no test is needed to start.

The history first

A careful conversation is the main tool for understanding the difficulty. It points to the likely causes and to what, if anything, needs testing.

A short questionnaire

A five-question checklist, the IIEF-5, can be used as an aid. It tracks change over time and does not replace the conversation.

Blood tests when indicated

Tests for blood sugar, cholesterol or hormones are ordered when the history suggests them, and they are not needed for everyone.

What an online quiz cannot do

An online quiz cannot settle the cause, because it leaves out the history, the body and the medicines.

When a tablet did not help

Why look again when a tablet did not help?

A tablet bought online skips the assessment, so when it does not work or stops working, the cause may lie elsewhere.

what was takenwhat changedworryhealth

It did not work

These tablets help the blood flow side of an erection. They do not settle worry, low desire or a hormone problem, so the cause needs a closer look.

It worked, then stopped

A change in health, a new medicine or the return of worry can each explain this pattern. The history looks carefully for what changed and when.

A tablet answers one part of the question.

Often found alongside

What can occur alongside erectile dysfunction?

Erection difficulty can sit beside other concerns, and checking for them keeps the plan complete.

Early climax

Early ejaculation and erection difficulty can occur together, and each can feed the other.

The premature ejaculation page explains how that concern is assessed and treated.

Low mood and anxiety

Low mood and anxiety can reduce desire and make erections harder.

The psychiatry care page explains how mood and anxiety are assessed in Mumbai.

Diabetes and heart disease

An erection change can be an early sign of diabetes or heart disease.

Questions the history helps answer

Timing

Did it start suddenly or slowly, and what was happening at the time?

Setting

Is it the same alone and with a partner?

Health

Could a physical condition or a medicine be part of it?

After the assessment

What happens after the assessment?

The plan follows what the assessment finds and what the person wants from care.

A plan

The likely causes are explained in plain words. There is room for questions and for anything that stays uncertain.

Options for care

A talking approach can ease the anxiety loop. PDE5 inhibitors, a class of tablets, help blood flow but not worry or desire, and are prescribed only after assessment.

A referral follows when the body needs a specialist.

A review point

Agree when to review and what to look for in the meantime.

Medicines and approaches can be adjusted at review if they are not helping.

Self-harm or thoughts of not wanting to be here can be talked about openly with a clinician. Crisis lines are at the end of this page.

Common questions

Questions people ask before booking

Is erectile dysfunction common in young men?

Yes, erection difficulty is common in younger men too. Worry about performance, stress and alcohol often play a part, and a physical cause is still checked. Concerns about pornography use can be discussed without assuming it caused the difficulty.

Will a medicine be prescribed straight away?

Not before an assessment. A medicine may be part of the plan once health, history and current medicines are understood. Some of these tablets are unsafe with certain heart medicines, which is one reason assessment comes first.

Should I see a psychiatrist or a urologist for erectile dysfunction?

Either can be a sensible first stop. A psychiatrist looks at anxiety, mood, medicines and general health together. A referral to a urologist follows when a physical cause needs specialist tests or treatment.

Does diabetes or high blood pressure affect erections?

Yes. Both can affect the blood vessels and nerves that erections depend on. An erection change can be an early sign of either condition, so a check with a physician is part of the plan.

Can a regular medicine cause erection problems?

Yes, some can. Certain antidepressants and some blood pressure medicines are known to affect erections. A medicine should not be stopped suddenly; a review can look at timing or an alternative with the prescribing doctor.

Can nightfall or losing semen cause erection problems?

Not through any loss of strength: semen is replaced continuously. The worry itself can affect confidence and erections, and the tiredness and low mood that come with it can be helped. The men's sexual health page covers this worry.

I searched "napunsakta ka ilaj". Is this the right page?

Yes. Napunsakta and mard ki kamzori are the words many use for erection and weakness worries. The difficulty is common, and its causes can sit in the body, the mind or both. A consultation covers history, medicines and mood, in Mumbai or online.

Ring the doorbell

A sentence or two is enough

A first message can be short and does not need to name the concern. Questions about fees, timings or the online option are welcome too.
