Step by step

What an adult ADHD assessment involves at Weave

Assessment is a conversation with a shape to it. Here is the shape, in order.

Before we meet

Settled on WhatsApp. No old papers, no right words needed.

The first meeting

Fifty minutes. What has been hard, when it began, and how it shows up at work, at home and with people.

Your early years

The talk goes back to school and childhood. A pattern lasting years matters more than one hard month.

Scales, as one input

A rating scale sorts what you said. It does not decide.

Other reasons for the same trouble

Sleep, mood, worry, thyroid trouble, alcohol and overload all blunt focus. Each is weighed first.

Other people, when it helps

With your consent, a partner or old report can add detail.

How long it takes

One sitting is sometimes enough, sometimes a second is needed. A careful answer beats a quick one.

Just as important

What an ADHD assessment is not

Four things get expected, and none of them is what happens.

Not something you pass or fail

There is no score to beat and no wrong answer. Nothing you say counts against you.

Not a form you fill in and add up

A rating scale can be part of the work. On its own, a filled sheet is not an assessment, and this page does not ask you to score yourself.

Not a label handed over on the day

Sometimes the picture is clear at the first meeting. Sometimes it is not, and saying so is part of doing the job well.

Not a promise of medicine

Medicine is one option among several. Whether it fits is a conversation with the doctor, held once the picture is clear, not before it.

Who it is for

You do not need to arrive sure

Adults who have started to wonder

Something you read or heard raised the question, and you would rather find out than keep guessing.

Parents of a grown son or daughter

You have watched someone work twice as hard for half the result, and you want to understand why.

People told this elsewhere, who want it looked at again

A second, careful look is a fair thing to ask for, and it is welcome here.

After the work is done

What you get is a map, not a verdict

You get a plain account of what has been going on, and how the pieces fit.

If the picture points to ADHD

A plan is drawn with you. For many people the first work is practical: routines, task systems, sleep, workload, and the self-blame that builds up. Therapy has a part in that.

Where medicine fits

It is discussed as part of consultant-led care, weighing what it may offer and what it may not. Some ADHD medicines are regulated in India and may need an in-person review.

If it points somewhere else

That matters just as much, because the real difficulty can then be treated. Where sleep, mood or worry is doing more of the damage, that is said plainly.

No result is promised in advance, at any stage.

Money, in daylight

What it costs

An assessment is booked as an ordinary appointment: a full consultation of 50 minutes is INR 2,800, and a brief consultation of 30 minutes is INR 1,800, with the whole list on what a psychiatrist costs in Mumbai and what therapy costs in Mumbai.

Where a second sitting is needed, it is booked and charged like any other appointment. The fee is the same online and in person. If finances are tight, talk to us.

To book, send a message on WhatsApp. Adult ADHD assessment is written up here in two registers, this page and attention and focus assessment, so use whichever words fit you.

We reply within one working day. Weekend messages are answered by Monday.

None of this asks for an email address, a phone number or a sign-up.

The long guide

ADHD in adults covers the ground this page does not: how it shows up, why it gets missed, and what care can look like.

Common questions

Questions people ask before they book

Is there one test that settles adult ADHD?

No. There is no blood test, no brain scan and no single form that settles it alone. The answer is built from your history, with scales as one part of it.

Can this be done online?

In many cases, yes. The work is mostly history and conversation, and a video appointment can carry that. Some steps and some medicines still need an in-person visit, and the doctor will say so.

Do I need my old school reports?

They help if you have them, and nothing stops if you do not. Most people arrive with memory alone, and that is a normal place to start.

Will anyone else be told?

Only with your consent. If input from a partner or a parent would add something, you are asked first, and you can say no.

Who will I actually see?

Dr. Niharika Reddy, MD Psychiatry, is the consultant psychiatrist and the clinician who assesses. Dr. Wilfred D'souza is a psychiatry resident and the digital and educational lead. He offers Therapy Support under her supervision, and that is the one service he provides.

How many appointments will it take?

We cannot say before we have met you, and any page that gives a number is guessing. One sitting suits some people. Others need a second one to be sure.
