In short
What does therapy cost in Mumbai?
Before the numbers
What makes therapy cost more or less
Five things move the figure. None of them is a secret, so here they are in plain words.
Time
A 50-minute session and a 90-minute session are different pieces of work, and they are priced that way. Family sessions run 60 minutes because there is more than one person in the room.
Who you see
A consultant psychiatrist, a resident offering therapy support under supervision, and a psychologist do different jobs. The fee follows the job, not the person.
First session or later ones
The first session is longer, because the whole story is new. After that the rhythm settles, and you and your clinician agree how often to meet.
Online or in person
At Weave the fee is the same either way. What changes is your travel and your time off work.
One session or a package
Weave prices two packages as things in their own right. Their contents and their per-session figure are in the table below.
No fee at all
What costs nothing at Weave
Not everything at Weave has a fee. These are open to anyone, and you do not have to be a client to use them.
The Family Library
Plain-language guides for families, in five languages, free to read at the Family Library.
Group workshops
Free group workshops, held now and then, for the people we see and their families. Dr. Niharika Reddy leads them. There is more on the services page.
The emergency page
The emergency page carries crisis numbers in one place, open to anyone, at any hour.

What you are paying for
A fair expectation to bring
The paediatrician Donald Winnicott wrote about the good enough mother. His point was that a parent does not have to be perfect.
Reliable, not perfect
She has to be reliable, and present, and honest about her limits. That is enough for a child to grow.
What the fee buys
A session is not an outcome bought by the hour, and no clinician can promise you one. What the fee buys is a regular hour with someone who pays attention, takes notes, and tells you the truth.
Why the expectation matters
What you arrive expecting shapes what the money feels like. If you come expecting to be fixed, one session will feel expensive. If you come expecting a steady place to think, it reads differently.
Over time that is often enough for something to shift.
What happens
What a first therapy session is like
You do not need a speech, old reports, or clinical words. A few honest sentences are enough.
Before we meet
We settle the practical details on WhatsApp. For an online session, find a spot where you can speak privately.
We start with your life
We ask what has been happening, what matters to you, and what has helped or hurt so far.
We look for the pattern
Therapy works on patterns rather than single bad days. Naming the pattern is most of the first session.
We agree one next step
You can ask, pause, or say no. How often you come back is a decision you make with your clinician, not one handed to you.
Paying
Payment is by UPI once your session is confirmed. It is not part of a first message.
We reply within one working day. Weekend messages are answered by Monday.
Common questions
Questions people ask about fees
Is there a free first session?
No. Weave does not offer one, and there is no trial session either. Every session carries the fee listed in the table above.
Who does therapy at Weave right now?
Dr. Niharika Reddy, MD Psychiatry, is the consultant psychiatrist and clinical lead, and she sees people for therapy. Dr. Wilfred D'souza is a psychiatry resident and the digital and educational lead. He offers Therapy Support under her supervision, the one service he provides.
How do the packages work?
Package A is five 50-minute sessions for INR 11,600, which works out to INR 2,320 a session. Package B is ten for INR 21,000, or INR 2,100 a session. Both cover a consultation or therapy support, and suit someone planning a run of sessions.
Do I pay before or after?
After your session is confirmed. Payment is by UPI, and the payee reads Weave Psychiatry. You can send the screenshot back on WhatsApp. There is a payment page that walks through it.
Does the fee change if I meet online?
No. The fee is the same online and in person. What a video session spares you is the travel, not the fee.
How many sessions will I need?
We cannot say in advance, and any page that gives you a number is guessing. Some people come for a short stretch. Others stay longer. You and your clinician review it as you go.
What if I cannot afford it right now?
If finances are tight, talk to us. Say it in your first message and we will talk it through.
