Restless Restless. This track is for when the body will not sit still. The legs want to move, the hands want something to do, and every attempt to settle makes it worse. So we do not start by sitting. We start by moving. Stand up. Give yourself a little room. Shake the hands, loosely, as if shaking off water. Let it travel up the arms. Shake the arms. Now shift the weight from foot to foot. Bounce a little, if you like. Let the legs have what they wanted. Walk the room. From one wall to the other and back. Not slowly. At the pace the body wants. And again, a little slower this time. Now stop walking and stand still. Feel the feet on the floor and the heart going a little faster. That is fine. The body has had its turn. One long breath out. Now sit, if you want to. If the body is still not ready, stay standing. Both are fine. Let the breath go slow. No big breath in. Out, long and easy. Again. The restlessness may still be there. It often comes down a notch after moving, not to zero. If it builds again, stand and walk the room once more. Breathing out. Open your eyes if they were closed. Carry on with the day.
