Commute reset Commute reset. This track is for the train, the bus, or the auto. Eyes stay open. It is a few minutes of settling on the way to somewhere, instead of scrolling the whole way. A safety line first. Keep one part of your attention on what is around you: your stop, your bag, the people near you. Volume low enough to hear the road. If anything needs you, pause the track. Start with the feet. On the floor, or braced against the side of the auto. Feel them take some of the weight. Now the seat, or the hand on the rail. The body being carried along. The sounds. Let them come without going after them. Engine. Horns. Someone's call. The announcement. Each one arrives and goes. Now notice the pull to the phone. The hand may already be moving toward it. You do not have to stop it. Only notice the pull, and let the hand rest for one more minute. Breathe out, long and slow. Again. Look out of the window, or at the floor, or at nothing in particular. Let the eyes rest. Feet. Sounds. Breath. When your stop is close, or when this track ends, three slow breaths. One. Two. Three. Then gather your things and get off at your usual pace. The phone can come out now if you want it. Mind the step, and watch the road.
